Lighter sounds captured for the mct - physical computing subject. It was capture with a small speaker as the input, capturing the sound of an empty lighter. The small speaker was plugged by alligator clamps in a 9v battery. After that i've processed the sounds a bit with a pinch of reverb, delay and some compression.

Mic set up near the pan while scrambled eggs were cooking. Loopable, this file is 2x. That quarantine mood when you're locked in your house and then ask your housemate, "hey this might sound weird, but can i record you cooking? the sound makes me happy". Snippets from recordings of me playing the tanpura. The strings are tuned to b, d, g and e, so would work well in the keys of g or e minor. I noticed that my first pack of tanpura samples has a bit of fuzzy white noise so in this pack i have equalized - i reduced all the very high frequencies which got rid of most of the white noise without affecting the low frequency sounds of the tanpura itself. Please note this is the tanpura part of an instrument called the swar sangam which combines the swarmandal (indian harp) and the tanpura, it is not a traditional tanpura and does sound slightly different.

Recorded and processed at 24bit 48khz using the tascam dr-40 linear pcm recorder. Processing: gain-staging and soft high and low frequency filtering. No eq boost or cuts anywhere else. Also de-noised.

Varied hits on materials in my basement - cardboard boxes, a treadmill, wooden table, etc. . . Most of the sounds from this pack were extracted from a recording of me striking said objects with my palm. Because of proximity effect, i found some of these to be useful for the sound of an object hitting the ground.

I've fiddled with this sound for a while, its 22 layers of base tones, atmosphere and static blended together to create a heavy, powerful sounding beam weapon. The finish is a slowed, lowered and reverberated tone from a french horn.

Glitchy robot scream, made for a game with robot enemies. I made it by using audacity's "import raw data" function to import random program files which creates all kinds of crazy noises. (all the sounds in this pack came from the files of an emulated ps2 game. ) i then put a vocoder on the sounds i found to make them sound even more robotic.

I used bdx for the kick, sent through disto-fx and various eq plugins. Cymbalistic was used for the hihats, with further eq and gating placed on it. The snare was from a free sample pack (i can't remember the name of) sent through a resonator, eq plugins and some soft-clippers to give it a bigger sound. Clipmax was used on the master channel.
